Received and replied. Thank you Urlich and Dan (separate offer). My attempt to straighten my mast seems like it worked better than expected so I’m going to try to re-step it once I get a couple parts from Rudy and see where I am.
This whole thing started with a freak centerboard cable snap on the 4th that resulted in a leak at the pivot. The boat sits in a mooring in the Potomac and the initial panic about the leak drove me to attempt tipping the boat fix the cable (relieve pressure on the pivot bolt and help me get it to a shallow launch). The dock we attempted to tip it at probably not wide enough resulting in too much force downward instead of lateral and thus a spreader failed and the mast bent. After all that, she’s now on the trailer, new cable nearly installed, looking into the trunk repairs for the CB pivot, and waiting on a spreader, shroud cover, and tabernacle for the mast. Mistakes were made, but we’re on the mend.
We were really down when this unfortunate sequence of events unfolded. This group’s quick responses meant a lot and we really appreciate it.
