Looking for Schaefer blocks
Author Last Post

I have this block that came with my Mariner.

I don't need it it's yours if you want it. It is the most photographed block in the Mariner pages: just now.

It has a strange break at the becket. It has been welded with stainless weld. I believe the weld won't fail first. You may even desire to remove the becket.

I can get your mailing address off the Mariner pages unless you have an alternate.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for checking your supply. My blocks all have 1/2" sheaves, but smaller is fine too. I'm using 5/16 line for my jib sheets.

Thanks!

Stewart, when I get home I'll look in my spare parts bin. Are you looking for a certain diameter sheeve, often measured in millimeters. Only reason is I may have a matched set but I'd like be sure block size will fit your sheets and lines.

Will send pictures etc.

Hi,

I'm adding some blocks, next year, to my jib sheets as I saw suggested by a member on the forum. I'd like to match the existing blocks I've got. They are older stamped stainless Schaefer blocks with white plastic sheeves. Nothing special, but I'd like them all to match. I'm looking for two with a beckett, and two plain. And, broken sheeves are fine. I machined some new nylon sheeves for some of my existing blocks, and can do that again.

If anyone has some of these schaefer blocks laying around, in any condition, I'd be interested in them. Attached is a photo of the ones I'd like to match, being used on my crosby rigged main sheet.

Thanks,

Stewart
