Companionway Hatch
Author Last Post

I cruise on a friend's boat in the Chesapeake Bay and he put these on his boat. I think their a little expensive but their really nice. I'm not sure how they might fit on a Mariner with the winch real in the way. you just send them your measurements/pattern and they ship them to you.

Peg - Which direction do your battens run? I can't quite tell from the photo.

Also: would you be willing to share the pattern for your fabric cover? I'm considering making something along those lines for my Mariner.

Yes it keeps the water out. I added 2 battens on the top so the fabric doesn’t accumulate water

Hi Peg. Great idea! Does it keep the rain out? We are coming into rainy season here (we hope).

Was thinking of doing the same for extra rain protection. Nice work.

Just a suggestion--- My hatch was missing when I purchased my boat. I made a snap on cover from Sunbrella. Pic attached..

Is there a story behind a sunken companionway hatch?

My companionway hatch is somewhere on the bottom of the intracoastal. I need to replace it and can’t pay $450 for a new one. I have a Stuart Mariner. I don’t know if o’Day hatch covers fit. I’m willing to pay a fair price and shipping for a used one.
